Purpose of Transport Support

Transport support may be used to assist the participant to attend:

• Medical and allied health appointments
• Employment or volunteering activities
• Education or training programs
• Community participation and social activities
• Shopping and personal errands
• Recreational and leisure activities
• Capacity-building supports
• NDIS-funded services and appointments

Importance of Transport Support

Without appropriate transport support, the participant may experience barriers to accessing essential services and participating in community life. Transport assistance helps reduce social isolation, increases independence, and supports the participant to achieve their NDIS goals.

Transport Options

The participant may access transport through:

• Registered taxi services
• Rideshare services (where appropriate)
• Community transport providers
• Support workers using their own vehicle (in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements)
• Public transport, where suitable and accessible

Funding and Review

Transport support will be used in accordance with the participants NDIS plan and the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. The participants transport needs will be reviewed regularly to ensure the support remains appropriate and aligned with their goals and functional capacity.
